Dr. Alex Porthukaran, C.Psych. (He/Him)
Dr. Alex Porthukaran, C. Psych., is a clinical and supervising psychologist who received his Ph.D. in Clinical Developmental Psychology from York University. He is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Porthukaran conducts assessments and therapy with children and adolescents with a range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, learning issues, and anger. He is passionate about working with autistic children and people, and he works as a psychologist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health where he assesses and provides therapy for autistic people who have co-occurring mental health issues. In this role, he is also involved in research and teaching where he works with autistic people who co-develop and co-facilitate needed services. Dr. Porthukaran always strives to employ evidence-based strategies in person-centered ways working within the acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) frameworks.
