Isabella Jamieson, M.A., Psy.D. Candidate (She/Her)

Isabella is a dedicated School Psychology Doctoral student currently completing her residency at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in the School-Clinical Child track. She holds a School Psychology Master’s degree from Alfred University in New York and a certification in Autism and Behavioural Science from George Brown College. Her graduate research addresses the lack of diversity among practitioners in the school psychology field, with a focus on recruitment and retention, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Isabella has presented her work at National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) conferences across the U.S.

In her residency, Isabella works with students and their families in TCDSB elementary and high schools, conducting psychoeducational assessments, consulting with special service providers and teachers, and promoting student mental health. At her clinical placement with the Child Development Institute, she provides therapeutic services to youth in the Learning Disability and Mental Health (LDMH) program and facilitates the Stop Now and Plan (SNAP) program. Additionally, Isabella provides consultation services to parents and mental health professionals to communicate insights into clients' learning profiles and diagnoses.

Throughout her academic journey and professional experiences, Isabella has developed a comprehensive understanding of learning disabilities, academic interventions, and school systems. She received specialized training in diagnosing autism gained during her work at Alfred University's Child and Family Service Centre. Isabella has also taught as an adjunct psychology professor at Alfred University, where she led courses in the Psychology of Measurement and School Consultation. 

Isabella is committed to taking a collaborative approach to treatment planning, working closely with parents, educators, and other key stakeholders to ensure that each child’s unique needs are met. She is particularly passionate about empowering children through the assessment process, helping them to recognize their strengths and embrace what makes them unique. Isabella’s goal is to inspire confidence and foster resilience in the children she serves, guiding them toward academic and personal success.
