Megan Purcell, B.A.Sc., M.Psy. Candidate (She/Her)

Megan is currently pursuing a Master of Psychology degree at Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto. She is a practicum student here at Flourish and is eager to be starting her career in a field she is so passionate about. This summer, Megan volunteered to help Marie with Club Au-some, an empowering, neuro-affirming group for girls with autism. She will be continuing to help out with Club Au-some this fall.

She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Behaviour from McMaster University and has worked in mental health since graduating. Most notably, she has worked as a clinical intake coordinator at a private practice clinic, welcoming new clients to their therapy journey.

In her clinical work, Megan takes a compassionate, strengths-based approach and leads with empathy, with the goal of fostering an environment where her clients feel understood and empowered. She draws from several evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including ACT and DBT, to meet the unique needs of each client. Megan provides therapy and assessment to children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, autism, and learning difficulties.

In her spare time, Megan likes to read, travel, practice yoga and Pilates, spend time with her loved ones, and do anything crafty. She adores her dog Otis, whom she considers an unofficial therapy dog due to his caring nature.
