Rachel Ault

Rachel Ault, Ed.D., O.C.T. (She/Her)

Rachel is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with over twenty years of experience in public school boards, most of which have been in the primary years. Throughout her career, Rachel has developed a keen interest in special education. This interest led her to pursue a four-year secondment at Bloorview School Authority, where she taught and learned with students with complex academic profiles.

It was at Bloorview that Rachel developed a passion for helping families navigate Ontario's special education system, which she did in the role of School Transition Liaison. This position allowed her to work closely with school board administration, local schools and, most importantly, families to ensure that students leaving Bloorview were well supported in their transition and that families felt seen and heard.

Currently, Rachel is completing her Doctoral thesis on the intersection of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and psychoeducational assessments, with a keen interest in reframing the IEP from a strengths-based perspective. Rachel's teaching philosophy mirrors her research interests – she deeply believes in uncovering each child's strengths and skills so all students can reach their potential.
