Social Anxiety Group For Youth | Week 6

The Social Anxiety Group for Youth or (SAY) is an evidence-based, 10-week in-person group for children and youth (ages 10-14) who could benefit from support in the areas of social anxiety including interacting with peers and adults in social settings (identifying social cues, challenging difficult thoughts in social situations, assertiveness training). Through this program, youth will learn different ways of responding to social situations to cope with symptoms of anxiety. Youth are provided with tools that highlight an alternative to avoiding or escaping social situations. They will also learn skills to support their emotions and thoughts prior to and while facing social situations. Throughout the program, using fun and unique scenarios (e.g., dinner parties, interacting with peers, communicating with adults), youth will practice facing their anxiety with other group members who have similar challenges, and learn to cope with difficult situations.

We offer this program for 10 consecutive weeks at $100 per session ($1000 total). Psychological services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) but are often partially or fully covered by extended health benefits/insurance plans. Please check with your insurer to review your specific coverage. Reach out to psychology@flourishhealthservices.ca for more information and to register for the next group!
