Social Work Services
Social workers at Flourish provide compassionate support for individuals and families helping you navigate life’s challenges with empathy and understanding.
In addition to counselling, we assist with service navigation, helping families connect with essential community and healthcare resources. Whether you need guidance on accessing mental health services, school supports, or social assistance, we are here to ensure you have the tools and resources needed to thrive. At Flourish, we are dedicated to offering holistic care that supports long-term well-being for you and your family.
At Flourish, we offer play therapy as a specialized service to help children express their emotions and navigate challenges in a safe, supportive environment. Through play, children can communicate feelings they may not yet have the words to express. Our trained social workers use play therapy techniques to help children process emotions, develop coping strategies, and improve their emotional and behavioral well-being, all while engaging in a familiar and comforting activity.
Play Therapy
At Flourish, we provide a supportive and inclusive space for individuals across the 2SLGBTQIA+ spectrum. This service is rooted in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by queer individuals. All of our therapists are committed to fostering a safe environment where clients can explore their identities, process experiences, and address mental health concerns free from judgment. Through a holistic and strengths-based approach, we aim to empower clients to live authentically and thrive in all aspects of their lives.
Queer-Affirming Therapy
At Flourish, our social work team offers group therapy sessions designed to provide children and adolescents with valuable peer support and social interaction. Group therapy offers a nurturing space where children can connect with others facing similar challenges, helping them feel understood and less isolated. It can be particularly beneficial for those dealing with anxiety, depression, or difficulties with social skills, fostering both emotional growth and a sense of belonging.
Led by our experienced social workers, these group sessions are structured to ensure that each child receives individualized attention within the group setting, while also benefiting from the collective support and dynamics. Activities such as interactive games, art projects, and group discussions are incorporated to help children develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and important social skills.
We believe that group therapy, in conjunction with other supportive services, can be a powerful way for children to build self-esteem and form meaningful connections. Our social workers work closely with families to assess if group therapy is the right fit for their child and to create a personalized plan tailored to their unique needs.
